The Wolf Pack 3

Onyx came and sat down beside him.
"Do you know what's for breakfast?" he asked.
"Uh, probably leftovers, as always," Spirit muttered, placing his head on his paws. "It's kinda gross eating the same carcass in the winter as the day before, because it's always all frozen and hard, and when it melts, it's all watery."
"Meh. At least we got a good hunt last time. Remember when it was drought season, and we couldn't find anything to eat, and we almost starved?" Onyx asked, lying down next to him.
"Yeah, that really sucked," Spirit replied, remembering how he had started to eat bugs and and small birds, which had tasted repulsive.
The two wolves' thoughts were interrupted as they rest of the pack began to yip and hurry to the entrance of the den.
"Spot and Amber are probably back," Spirit said, getting up and trotting over with the rest of the pack. Onyx was right on his heels.
"Food's here," Spot called, as he picked up the elk carcass and dragged it to the center of the den with the help of Galena.
The wolves sniffed hungrily at the food, and then obediently lined up in rank order.Spot was obviously first, because he was the head Alpha. Even though Galena and Spot were tied for second place, Galena went in front of Spirit. Behind Spirit was Onyx, who was an Omega, then the other two young Omegas, Misty and then Amber. Amber was last because even though she was second youngest, Amber was a fox, not a wolf. The pack had found her stranded in the snow last winter, and, seeing that she had no family, they took pity on her, and accepted her into the wolf pack.
After Spot had eaten his fill, he left the carcass allowing the line to take turns eating their share. Once little Amber had eaten her fill, the pack gathered around Spot for their usual meet. This meet was essential to attend, because as Amber had said before, the pack was going on it' s weekly hunt.
"So," began Spot, "as most of you know, we are going hunting today. Excitement ran through the pack.
"And," he continued, "we need to discuss formation strategies. Any ideas?"
"Sir," Galena said, "I think that on our last hunt we had a pretty good formation set up, but a few adjustments should have been made."
